Hi there,

It my first time on here.

So here is my problem. When I'm google's home page (msn's or yahoo's) I not able to access the "Preferences" or "Advanced Search" menu's. This is what appears at the end of the URL "www.google.com/#

For Google go to http://www.google.co...eferences?hl=en to change your preferences and http://www.google.co...ed_search?hl=en for the advanced search.

For Yahoo!'s advanced search go to http://search.yahoo....ns?fr=fp-top&p=

On MSN I don't see a link for an advanced search or any preferences.

I would be almost willing to bet that the links aren't working correctly for you due to spyware, go to http://www.geekstogo..._Log-t2852.html for info on how to remove it.

Thanks going to try that too. I fixed it last week, I something online that said that I had to go and edit a file somewhere in C:\windows\system32..... I can't remember the file anymore. It took my hours to find it last time. But it said to make sure the IP address in this file was some along the lines of 127.0.0.1... that if anything else was in it that I have that problem.

This is a perfect example of phishing.
Take a look at the google page in ur screenshot. There is no "I'm Felling Lucky" Button. Also Google searches 8,058,044,651 not the number in ur screenshot.

In case, of msn search. Its url is http://search.msn.com not http://www.msn.com .
And MSN Search looks different than ur screenshot.

Clearly, the names resolutions in ur host file have changed, and plus u might have some malware.

Thanks, I think that WinsockXPFix for Windows XP/2000/NT fixed the problem. I still going to look at the host file, to see if that was where I made the changes.
