Pretty basic...I'd just like to know what the major differences are, mainly performance differences, between the GeForce 6800 and the Radeon 9800 series. Since the Radeon 9800 is cheaper by nearly $100, and I've heard nothing but good things about it, I'm thinking this is the way to go. Just wanna make sure <_<

Thanks in advance!

The ATI X800 is a more equal comparison to the 6800. The 9800 is a very good card, but won't perform as well with the newest DX9 games due to it's smaller number of GPU pipelines, and slower clock speeds.

You can compare a number of benchmarks here:

Maybe the X800 was the card I was thinking of then, I couldn't remember if it was that or the 9800 that I had heard was compared to the 6800. Thanks a bunch though, I'll look into that!
