A pop up "winfix" 2005 installer came on my puter and said I needed it, so I tried to download it....when my antivirus bar came on saying I should know the person I am downloading this from, I elected to stop the download and forget it! Well, it wouldn't stop....now it says it is installing and downloading, but it is not. No bytes are being downloaded, but it keeps running regardless! I have tried to remove this program, but it says it cannot be deleted! How do I get rid of it completely taking it off of my puter! Thanks for your help guys. Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
