Hi there.

Looks like you have Giant Anti-spyware installed. Could you please launch it & make sure it's protection isn't enabled? If it is indeed enabled/active, it might've been preventing us to do those fixes. If it's active, please disable it.

Then run HiJackThis, check these objects for removal;

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = invis.free.anonymizer.com:80
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [gcasDtServ] gcasDtServ.exe

Make sure that those two objects above are checked, then hit "Fix Checked".

Reboot your PC. Run a new scan with HiJackThis, and post the fresh log here.

Hi again!

* Download PV.zip from here.
* Extract the entire contents of pv.zip to your desktop.
* You should now have a folder called "pv" on your desktop. Open it and double-click "runme.bat" to run it.
* At the menu press 2 and then ENTER to obtain a list of modules loaded into Internet Explorer. If Internet Explorer is not already open it will be started.
* When it is finished a Notepad window will open with a log in it. Copy/paste the entire contents of that log into your next reply.

Hi again!

I still have one idea that might work. First, please install Firefox here; http://www.mozilla.org/ get the browser ready to be used. Now,
I can see that you have AOL's anti-spyware application installed. If you have the protection of it enabled, could you please disable it. Since it might interfere in the fixes.
Then also make sure that Giant Anti-spyware's protection isn't enabled. It might get in the way of our fixes also.
If you can get those two disabled,

Disconnect from the internet. {for broadband/cable users, it is recommended that you disconnect the cable connection}

Please boot up into Safe Mode.

While rebooting your computer, tap f8 continuosly. A menu should come up, choose to go to Safe Mode.

Run HiJackThis. Close any other open windows.

Just hit the button to "Scan". When finished, please check these objects for removal;

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = invis.free.anonymizer.com:80
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [gcasDtServ] gcasDtServ.exe

Make sure that the above mentioned objects are all checked, then hit "Fix Checked".

Exit HJT.

Reboot.
Boot up into normal mode. Run a new scan with HiJackThis, post that log here using Firefox- browser! ;) It's very important that you post the log using Firefox.

Don't use Internet Explorer until we get your PC clean, please keep using Firefox.

By the way, I went through these last steps twice to be sure it was removed. I also double checked to make sure that Giant and McAfee weren't enabled.....but you see I was unsuccessful again. I guess I am stuck with it. Which sucks. Thanks anyway for all of your help. And since we've reached the end of the line with you......well, I guess there isn't much else to say on the subject. I honestlyl appreciate all of the help you've tried to give me. I am sorry that nothing worked. Have a blessed day and continue giving others the same great service you give them. Let's try one more thing ;)

First, make sure Giant Anti-spyware's & AOL's anti-spyware protection isn't on. If they are, disable them.

Open Notepad, and copy everything in the code box below and paste it into a new notepad file. Change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as fixme.reg on your Desktop. Make sure there is NO blank line above "REGEDIT4"!

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = invis.free.anonymizer.com:80]


Locate fixme.reg on your Desktop and double-click on it. When it asks if you want to merge with the registry, click YES.


Now, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:

Once in Safe Mode, run a scan with HiJackThis, and check the following objects for removal if present;

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = invis.free.anonymizer.com:80
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [gcasDtServ] gcasDtServ.exe

Make sure their checked, then hit "Fix Checked".


Reboot!!
Boot up into normal mode.

Now, enable AOL's & Giant Anti-spyware's protections back on.

Run HiJackThis again, post the fresh HJT log here, using Firefox. And it's important that you use it.

Isn't this funny......when I boot up in safe mode, there isn't an entry for this anonymizer thing. Just the gcasDtServ.exe. I check it and boot up in normal mode and run the hijack this log and then there it is! But again, not when I boot up in safe mode!! How weird is that??? And all of this occurs after I've disabled all of my spyware tools and virus tools like you told me to do.

Hi again! Well. I think we need to uninstall your Giant Anti-spyware.
This might work if you do this.. Please click "Start", "Control Panel" -> Add/Remove programs. Uninstall Giant Anti-spyware from there if it is listed. Then go here;
C:\Program Files\GIANT Company Software\GIANT AntiSpyware\ and delete the whole folder.

Now empty your recycle bin. Disable AOL Anti-spyware's protection. Don't disable your Anti-virus, only disable AOL after uninstalling Giant.

Then,

open Notepad, and copy everything in the code box below, and paste it into a new notepad file. Change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as fixme.reg on your Desktop. Make sure there is NO blank line above "REGEDIT4"!

REGEDIT4

Hi again!
  • Please download Silent Runners.
  • Save it to the desktop.
  • Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
  • You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done yet, just let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
  • Once you receive the prompt "All Done!", double-click on the new text file on the desktop and copy that entire log and paste it here.
  • Note; If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.
    For some time it will look like nothing is happening. Just keep waiting.
  • Once it's done it will create a log. A window will come up telling you when it's saved. Please post that log here!

Ok, I've run the script 15 times and cannot find where the log file is going to. Its saying its going into a local settings folder but I'm not finding that file! Can you help me find this log file to post to you?
