Hi All,

Had a call from a friend who's computer had been hijacked, spent 3 hours looking at it last night to see just how much stuck he was in!

I have managed to clean a lot of it beleive it or not!! Here is the latest highjack this log, now from my humble knowledge I think we have here: Spysherrif, paytime.exe, auarora/nail.exe and probably a host of others thigs. I'm pretty sure I know how to get rid of these, BUT of course the word from our experts would be highly appreciated.

I have the following programmes downloaded ready for action:
Spybot
Adawre
avg
clean up
cwshredder
deldomains
ewido
hijackthis!
hoster
killbox
lqfix
lspfix
microsoft anti spyware
missingfilessetup
service pack 2

Here's the log:

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.

Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

Hi,

Bit of a problem, Service pack 1a, will not install I'm afraid. I get either a blue screen with problems on it OR it will not match the keys? I'm beginning to wonder about the validaty of the operating system!

Can anything be done with out service pack 1a?

Thanks in advance

ok your having problems getting SP1a.

Bit of a problem, Service pack 1a, will not install I'm afraid. I get either a blue screen with problems on it OR it will not match the keys? I'm beginning to wonder about the validaty of the operating system!

*Please go here (Microsoft website) using Internet Explorer ( not Firefox or any other browser as they won't work)
*Click on "Windows Validation Assistant"
*Click on the "Validate Now" button.
*Be patient while the ActiveX loads, do not click on any links.
*Read the instructions on this page while it's loading. You will be prompted to install - click YES.
*Enter your product key then click "continue"
*When it says "Validation Complete" please click "Continue to return to your previous activity"
*Copy what it says and paste it here.
