Last night I was browsing the net and to my dismay, a WinRebates installer started. I was not happy. I'm pretty good about keeping adware off my computer but in this case it started all by itself, and I've seen how hard it is to get rid of. Anyway, I didn't allow it to make any changes to my registry (via Spybots TeaTimer.exe) and I ran an updated adaware scan last night before shutting the computer down. This morning, all traces of anything I had last night seem to be gone, but I thought I'd post a HijackThis log anyway so I could make sure I wouldn't see this junk again. Thanks guys.

(And I read this post before posting a log seeing as I've never dealt with this before.)

So, the log:

My mistake, I've called it WinRebates and meant WebRebates. Not sure where my mind was. Sorry about that.

Try looking in control panel, add/remove programs for WebRebates or anything else you feel is strange and remove it.

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

R3 - URLSearchHook: URLSearchHook Class - {37D2CDBF-2AF4-44AA-8113-BD0D2DA3C2B8} - C:\Program Files\NZSearch\SearchEnh1.dll

Please reboot into safe mode - How do I boot into "Safe" mode?.
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):

C:\Program Files\NZSearch
C:\Documents and Settings\Stephen\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\m03izgl1.slt
C:\Program Files\WebSpecials

reboot normally and post new log.

Did everything you asked to the letter, and I have a few things to report in addition to posting the new log. First, on normal startup, an error:

Titlebar: RUNDLL
Error: Error loading NvQTwk
The specified module could not be found.

One other thing to report: My Netscape 7 profile is gone, and with it all my bookmarks, saved passwords, etc. Not a big deal I just thought you should be aware.

The new log:

Titlebar: RUNDLL
Error: Error loading NvQTwk
The specified module could not be found.

I'm not sure why that would have popped up since I didn't have you remove anything having to do with your graphics card. NvQTwk is a file realated to Nvidia. Maybe just run the Nvidia disk again and it should fix the problem with that. And about the Netscape preferences, I do apologize I had you remove it. It was to clear anything having to do with the web rebates. I should have informed you about that. My fault.
You could actually do a system restore to an earlier point and get all that back and then redo the instructions but leave this folder there:

C:\Documents and Settings\Stephen\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\m03izgl1.slt

Also you'll want to go to "My Computer" and right click your Hard drive, click properties, and click Disk Cleanup. Make sure to select all Temp, Temporary folders and clean them up.

But on the other hand is the web rebates gone now? Your log looks clear.

Probably a good idea to get the latest driver for your video card here:

I restored this folder from the recycle bin; I assume it will restore my netscape prefs.
- C:\Documents and Settings\Stephen\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\m03izgl1.slt

And I'm getting the driver update from Dell's website. Thanks a lot. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks a lot guys.

You can also do a restore from Hijack This backups instead of a system restore if you would like to. Start Hijack this and click "Config" click "Backups" and choose the one you want and click "Restore".

Like I said, it was in my Recycle Bin so I just put it back from there <_<

Everything seems to be running perfectly again. No slow browsers, no webrebates, and no error messages. Thanks again. I really appreciate all the help.
