When I go to log out of a paricular user account in WinXPpro, it will go back to the blue screen with the choice of users and the little picture beside my name....then, over 50% of the time, it will just pop back to the desktop background that I was trying to log out of in the first place. Then it will just freeze up there. there are no icons or taskbar at all, just the background picture. Cntrl, Alt, Del does nothing either. I always have to reboot when that happens. Please help me in trying to find out the problem here. and hopefully how to fix it. Thank You.

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.
