about every two minutes a pop up from "ad.yieldmanager" will come up onto my screen, also a program called "winfixer2005" keeps trying to download itself. in addition the sound for an active x control download keeps playing but no information bar warning is displayed.

i have installed on my computer Microsoft AntiSpyware, Norton AntiVirus (with latest virus definitions), google toolbar, and the latest updates from windows update. all of these things cannot stop these annoying pop ups though! :tazz:

please help me because i have no idea what to do and i am worried that my computer is hijacked. ;)

Howdy and welcome to G2G:

Please go to the malware forum in my signature and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread
