I just recently reinstalled windows xp home edition on my dell demension 2400 and ever since i have had no sound i am guessing that it is a sound driver update that i need but i cant find any downloads for it im not sure about that type of sound card but i do know that the last time had this problem ( after deleting the sound driver :tazz: lol ) i had to reinstal jave runtime enviormen and pci sound max not sure which fixed the sound but im prety sure that it was the sound max so does anyone have any good guesses about what the problem is and if so how to fix it ?

note: " I also have a microphone jack in this soundcard (dont know if thats on all or not ) and it dosent work either but all this worked before i reformated my harddrive."

Dell computers come with a sticker on the case. Information on the sticker include your particular ID/model number.

Your Dell documentation also has your ID/model number.

If you go to Dell and input the information, it will tell you everything your computer contains... and the associated drivers required.
