I have an HP Deskjet 820Ces that won't print from the Internet. I get a script error: res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SH DOCLC.DLL/preview.dlg message. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers from HP. I have also gotten a script message that says: file://C:\PROGRAM FILES\AMERICAN ONLINE 904\pp.htm.

Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. Is the printer set as the default printer? Go to start, printers and faxes and check. If it is set to be the default there should be a black check mark on it. You can also right click on the printer and view properties and settings.

Does it print documents ok, and just won't print web pages?

Thank you for your reply. The printer is selected as the default, and, indeed, it will print from Word or Excel but nothing from the web such as an email, an attachment to an email or a web page URL.

Hello,

What internet browser are you using to print from? If you are getting problems from Internet Explorer, try downloading the fabulous open source Firefox web browser (http://www.mozilla.o...oducts/firefox/
, install it and see if you are able to print web pages using Firefox. If you can, then we can concentrate on files IE is using, if Firefox can't, then we will keep searching!

Cheers,
Tom

Try going into IE tools, internet options, advanced, and scroll down to printing. Remove the check mark on "pring background colors and images" if there is one. That is the only setting in IE for printing that I have found.
