not much improvement

hey guys i just put in a brand new amd athlon 3000 barton 333fsb but i have noticed my fps have not improved much, games run a little bit smoother but my fps is still around the same while other people get huge fps gains when upgrading their cpu
i should say that before i had an athlon xp 1600
anyone know anything i could do?

i have windows xp pro
768 ddr 333fsb
nvida fx 5700

You will need to give more information. Also is your CPU running at the proper speed use cpu z to find out.

the thing is that i can get more fps i get up there int he 100's but it doesnt stay there it drops to the 40s
