And We're Back!

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad in order to assist you when carrying out the following instructions.

Notes
WildTangent - This is an online gaming package that is installed by a number of third party applications and even OEMs, ISPs and AIM. The games aspect of this is really rather cool. The being installed without you asking for it isn't cool at all. They collect information about you and your usage. We recommend uninstalling it.

Downloads
The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! Here! and install it. DO NOT RUN IT YET

Download EliteBar Removal Tool Extract the files and run the program, Select "About" from the menu and then "Check for updates". CLOSE THE PROGRAM

Download WinPFind and extract it to your C:\ folder. This will create a folder called WinPFind in the C:\ folder. DO NOT RUN ANYTHING IN THE FOLDER YET

Download Track qoo Save it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop. Unzip the Track qoo.vbs inside to your desktop. DO NOT RUN IT YET

Download Killbox DO NOT RUN IT YET We will use this later

Boot Into Safe Mode
Reboot your system in Safe Mode (By repeatedly tapping the F8 key until the menu appears).

Run ETRemover_V130.exe, Click the "Kill Elite Toobar" button.

Run Winpfind.exe
  • Click "Start Scan"
  • It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!
  • Once the Scan is Complete
    1. Go to the WinPFind folder
    2. Locate WinPFind.txt
    3. Place those results in the next post

    Potential Uninstallations
Click > Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs and uninstall the following programs:

    EliteToolBar
    WildTangent
    Viewpoint Manager
    NaviSearch
    MediaAccess

    Start HijackThis Fix
Open Hijack This and click on Scan. Check the following entries (make sure you do not miss any)

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = about:blank
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = about:blank

  • Cleanup! All Users
Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program. Reboot/logoff when prompted.

Reboot your system in Normal Mode.

Run Downloaded Programs
Find the folder you unzipped "track qoo" to, andDouble Click on "Track qoo.vbs"
--Note - If you Antivirus has Script Blocking, you will get a Pop Up Windows asking you what to do. Allow this Entire Script to Run, its harmless!

Wait a few seconds and a notepad page will pop up, Copy & Paste those results and place them in the next post along with the results of WinPFind!

To Summarize, I need:
1. Results of Winpfind.exe
2. Results of track qoo.vbs
3. Fresh HijackThis Log
