can't run dos games at all

after i got a backdoor trojan in my system, i slowly started to lose many of my capabilities, every removal attempt failed and blocked me out of more stuff. so i installed spyware fixer and ewido security suite and its telling me my computer is virus free, but it left me a little present, it made dos take a [bleep]. now i cannot run any dos games, what can i do? i don't honestly know which version of dos is used with xp. :tazz:

Sounds like you are probably missing your Autoexec.NT file which belongs in the System32 folder.

If indeed the file is missing, you may be able to find a copy of it at the following location (Change the drive letter and Windows folder as appropriate for your system if needed):

C:\Windows\Repair

If you find it there, just copy it to your System32 folder, typically at this location:

C:\Windows\System32

There may be other causes for this issue, but this is the one that I know of, so I hope it fixes you up.
