Deleted E:/ Drive?

My computer is giving me an error saying my drive has been deleted. My CD drive is not responding at all ! What happened? Are there drivers for CD drives that I may have to reinstall?

Does the CD drive show up in My Computer or device manager?

If it doesn't, shut down, pull the AC plug out of the computer, open the computer case and reseat the connectors for the cd rom.
