Hello, last night I was using my computer and all of a sudden, no sound!!! No signs, nothing... I did the sound troubleshooter and checked everything (except I didn't roll back the driver for two reasons 1) I know that there was no sound device installed before the one that's there now, and 2) because I had to do that a few weeks ago when I accidently knocked it out with a Windows Hardware Update.) Please help, the computer says that everything is normal, that the music is playing and that there is no problem. I originally thought that it might be the speakers, but I plugged headphones into the computer itself and then into the headphones and there still was no sound.

Delete the drivers clean them using driver cleaner and put the latest drivers for your sound hardware on, get them from the manufacturers website if you dont have them.
Installing a fresh set of drivers fixes alot of problems.
