Spy Sheriff Background problem

Yep you guessed it... another computer has gotten Spy Sheriff. Lucky me!

I ran everything already suggested... Ewido, Spybot, Winsock, Hijack this... and including Ad Aware. I did it in safe mode. I think I got rid of the Spy Sheriff file however I still got that annoying background, and my system won't let me change it. I also ran Windows Cleanup program.

What else can I do to get rid of the annoying background?

Welcome Damien101 to Geeks to Go!

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP, or Service Pack 4 if you are running Win2k. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.

Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.
