yea i got a dell latitude cpx pentium 3 and i have a new cd burner the first two days it burned and now it doesn't no more the drive appears but when i try to play a regular cd with music it doesnt play or show i put a cd.

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. Check the power and EIDE cable connections to make sure they are correct and secure. Also make sure the master/slave pin setting is correct. You could also try deleting the device, then reboot and let windows detect and reinstall it, but check the cables and settings first!

wheres is the master/slave pin settings located can u please show me like a picture of indicate where its located. thanks

The master/slave settings are accomplished by moving a small jumper on the back of the drive. There is usually a table or diagram that shows what is master, slave etc right on the drive. If this drive shares the eide cable with another drive, one must be master and the other slave.
