I am abandoning Norton... I have been using Firefox, ZoneAlarm.... I will be using AVG free edition.... My question is: What do I need for a spyware killer? Should I just use ONE such as Spyware Doctor in case some conflict? What combination of programs do you use? :tazz: Thanks!!

Anti-virus programs will not conflict at all.

I use AVG, Spybot S&D and Adaware.

As for firewalls I use ZoneAlarm and the windows firewall.

I never get any form of infections, and if I do, they're cleaned up within seconds.

UndeadInsanity is completely wrong, but I think thats because he has his terminology wrong.

Two antivirus programs will conflict with each other.

An antivirus program and an AntiMalware program will not.

Two antimalware programs will also not normally conflict with each other.

For a list of good antispyware/antimalware tools, check out the downloads section of Geeks To Go or ask here and I will try to help you out.

Two or more Anti Virus programs WILL CERTAINLY conflict with each other. They will provide less protection and not more.

However, ScHwErV is right. Two Anti Spyware programs will not confict with each other. Well, at least not Ad aware and Spybot.

For the best Anti Spyware program, get Ad Aware Se Personal.

I use Anti-virus & firewall myself, (Norman Internet Control, I hate it though)
as an anti-spyware solutions I usually run updated Ad-aware SE & SpyBot S&D
HJT too sometimes.
My prevention is updated SpywareBlaster, as an browser I use Firefox. Always updated that one.
