embedded video?

hi.
ive been trying for a while now to change the source of an embedded video through javascript but still i cant seem to get it to work

heres the function ive been using:

function change_video()
{
document.getElementById('embed_id').src="new_filename.mpg";
}

can someone please correct this statement so that when i call the function the video will change to a different one?

i have also tryed using these statements in the fuction:

document['embed_Id'].src="new_filename.mpg";

&

document.all['embed_Id'].src="new_filename.mpg";
