Hi guys

Could someone gimme a hand? I've purchased a new HDD for my Satellite A15, but I'm not finding any info about replacing hard drives. The A15 has a small removalbe part where the HDD can be seen, but cannot be removed. Will I have to open all the laptop in order to replace my hard drive?

Thx

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. I would suggest going to Toshiba's web page and looking for a manual for the computer. It should tell you how to do this.

Hi Austin

Thanks for your reply. In fact, I've been on toshiba website, and it doesnt encourage users to open the laptop up. for this reason, they dont provide the " how to guide" :/

Do you have a manual for that computer? It doesn't mention anything about changing the hard drive? So sad. If it is not under warranty you are probably on your own. Proceed with caution and don't "force" anything as you dismantle it. A friend of mine has a Toshiba laptop and he changed out the hd when it died, seemed no big deal to him. I don't think it was the same model as yours. You could try to get Toshiba tech support to give you some guidance but it sounds like they would rather you send it to them so they can make money. Maybe someone else has personal experience with Toshiba laptops and will reply. Good luck!
