Sometimes when I go to a saved program or game I get a message that says windows does not where to look(not exact wording,close).What causes this and how do I avoid it?When I try open it I don't know what program to use.Is there a way to know or figure out what to use?

Each extension has a specified program associated with it. You can check program association as follows:

1. open my computer
2. click tools -> folder options
3. click on file types tab

That should list all extensions known on your system and their associated programs. You can specify there what program open what extention and you can add your own if they aren't listed.
