Hi there,
I recently had to re-install Windows and silly me went to some of the serial number or crack sites to get serial numbers of the latest software I needed. :D Some adware of whatever installed itself on my computer from there, I guess. I don't know how else, coz I didn't visit any porn sites. Anyway, I now have a link under favourites and a desktop shortcut called "Sexy girls" linking to hitpointer.com/dluxredir.html

Every now and then a IE window opens by itself displaying Asian porn sites. I presume they are related issues, but what do I know? I scanned with Adaware, Spybot and Norton Antivirus 2005 and can't get rid of it.

I did a hijackthis scan and here is my log:

Please download the newest version of Hijack This by clicking the "hijack this guide" in my signature and post a fresh log. We can then clear up this mess.

First empty out your temp folders. Go to "My Computer" right click your hard drive (usually c:\) and click "Properties". Then click the "disk cleanup" button and make sure all Temp/Temorary folders and the recycle bin are selected. Clean it up.

Your computer has a number of spyware programs that we need to remove. For more info on spyware see the Spyware Tools link in my signature.

Let's start with a couple of free programs:
CWShredder is the first to run. Here's why: If a CoolWebSearch variant is indeed running on your system, it may actually prevent you from running spyware scans. It is smart enough to detect efforts to detect it, and stop them. Download CWShredder to your desktop or other location. Close all browser windows, double click the CWShredder icon to run, then click the Fix -> button. When finished, reboot and run Spybot Search & Destroy.

Spybot Search & Destroy Download and install. Start Spybot S&D using the "Spybot-S&D (easy mode)" link from your Start menu . Click the Search for updates button, if any are found then click the Download Updates button. After all updates are downloaded, click the Check for problems button. When the scan is complete, place a check next to anything marked in red, then click the Fix selected problems button. You may need to run Spybot S&D multiple times to remove all infections.

[http://www.geekstogo...oad&id=17]CLICK HERE to download CWShredder[/URL]
CLICK HERE to download Spybot S&D

Next:
Please run a free online virus scan here (tick the "Auto Clean" checkbox):
http://housecall.antivirus.com/

And a free trojan scan here:
http://www.moosoft.com/

Reboot normally and post fresh hijack log and we can remove anything that is left.

If you're still having problems with the porn pop-ups you might want to delete this:

C:\program files\dialers\dluxjp\dluxjp.exe

Thanks freek, but there is no executable file. There is only
C:\Program Files\dialers\links\DLuxjp
which is a thumbnail of the picture that's on my desktop.
Any other advise?
And should I delete the whole dialer folder in safe mode? I haven't touched it yet, in case you want me to do something different with it.

Thanks for all the help guys, really appreciate it! <_<

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = file:///D:/My%20d%20docs/Personal%20Homepage/Personal%20Homepage3.htm
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Win Comm] C:\Program Files\Win Comm\WinComm.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [FHYMJAYT] c:\windows\system32\fhymjayt.exe /install

Please reboot into safe mode - How do I boot into "Safe" mode?.
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):

C:\Program Files\Win Comm
c:\windows\system32\fhymjayt.exe

Also I didn't see c:\program files\dialers, but obviously you have it so delete the whole folder.

Reboot normally and post new log.

Hey there, done as I was told!
2 problems, when doing the hijackthis fixing, an alarm went off and I got the message that the Win Comm file was changed. I clicked to leave it, as I didn't want to meddle with anything.
After that I deleted C;\Program Files\Win Comm in Safe Mode.
I could not delete C:\Windows\System32\fhymjayt.exe because that file didn't exist. Maybe I deleted it through the hijackthis scan and fix it?

Anyway, here is my new log:

Hijack This just removes registry entries that tell these certain files to run. When you remove an entry the file is still on your pc, it's just not being told to run. I'm not exactly sure how to find that file, it might change names when you reboot. Also Win Comminicator is said to be spyware by some and legit by others. I just suggest getting rid of it to be safe until we know for sure. Try uninstalling it in Add/remove programs if it will let you. I think it's called Windows Communicator.

There's still one entry in your log that needs to go
Remove it with hijack this

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Win Comm] C:\Program Files\Win Comm\WinComm.exe

I will post back here when I find out a definite about whether it is good or bad. For now it's bad.

If you're still having problems with the porn pop-ups you might want to delete this:

C:\program files\dialers\dluxjp\dluxjp.exe

View Post

Yes, that "dialer" is a porn dialer which connects to porn pay services using your modem. Delete that folder if possible.

Okidoki, we seem to getting somewhere, because I am having no problems right now with any of these porn things. Thanks so much for your help. I did delete the last few bits and here is my latest scan, hopefully squeeky clean.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Reboot in safe mode and run hijack this again and remove this entry.

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
file:///D:/My%20d%20docs/Personal%20Homepage/Personal%20Homepage3.htm

Reboot normally.

Congratulations! Your system is CLEAN <_<

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use) Click Here.

Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.

It's also very important to keep your system up to date to avoid unnecessary security risks. Click Here to make sure that you have the latest patches for Windows.

These next two steps are optional, but will provide the greatest protection.
1. Use ANY browser besides Internet Explorer, almost every exploit is crafted to take advantage of an IE weakness. We usually recommend FireFox Posted Image.
2. Install Sun's Java. It's much more secure than Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine .

It's okay to delete the Hijack This folder if everything is working okay.

After doing all these, your system will be thoroughly protected from future threats. :D

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. Just want to double check with you. That personal homepage you want me to delete, is a page that I created for myself. It's not harmful. But of course I don't know if you saw some harmful process or something, because I don't know what HKCU means etc...

Thanks again for your help, dude. APpreciate it. Lemme know if I am OK witout deleting it or why you think I should.
