ie browser hijack [RESOLVED]

hi

i have a browser hijack , can some1 plz help , im pullin my hair out here,have deleted recent folder contents , cookies and history.
adaware , spy bot, zone alarm security suite, spy sweeper , spy subtract all test clean , whereas microsoft beta spyware is finding a browser hijack . every time i boot my computer spysweeper and spy subtract say browser hijack , restore or keep, wearing a bit thin as i have to restore my home page every time i boot :tazz:

vicbigpond is my current isp

where else can i look to find the problem ? ( where else is a common place for them to hide ? )

ne help would be greatly appreciated ;)

Hello Dave and welcome to geeks to Go,

Firstly open Microsoft Antispyware (MSAS) and go to ADVANCED TOOLS>BROWSER RESTORE, place a check mark to the side of the setting you require, click RESTORE; Windows will confirm the change.

Now, open HijackThis (HJT) and close all programmes other than HijackThis. Place a check mark against the following:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = \blank.htm

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

One comment I would make about your set-up is that you have two "real-time" spyware prevention programmes running, SpySweeper and SpySubtract. This is bad practice and a recipe for disaster. Please choose only one for real-time protection and use all others as "on demand" scanners.

THANKYOU VERY MUCH U CRUSTYOLDBLOKE,U HAVE MADE MY DAY MUCH MERRIER BY GETTING RID OF THAT CRAP ON MY COMP :tazz:

i have also removed spysubtract from the startup so i only have 1 real time scanner.
been stressin me out that i couldnt fix prob but u have thanx alot

and also thankyou for the welcome to GEEKS TO GO

if i have ne other trouble ill b sure to come straight to this site , im stoked ;)
