Hi,

For the last several weeks, my computer (Dell Inspiron, Windows XP Professional)has been extremely slow to boot, usually taking over 3 minutes. I haven't noticed any other problems in the performance - the browser seems a little slow maybe. I have tried looking at the startup menu (under MSCONFIG) and when I disable the services: Evt Eng, Reg Srvc, WLANKEEPER, and Spectrum24 Event Monitor, the boot time seems to decrease dramatically (under 1.5 minutes). Can anyone see anything irregular in my HiJackThis Log?

Also, McAfee virus scan, SpyBot, and Adaware were unable to detect anything.

Thank you.

Still having the same problem. Today I timed the boot at 3min, 27sec. I realize there's a lot of stuff that doesn't need to be in start up (ex: DVD Launcher, Yahoo Music Launcher, etc) - but disabling these doesn't improve the boot time appreciatively. What does seem to alleviate the problem is disabling all the non-Microsoft services (Intel, Dell, ATI) under the System Configuration Utility menu. This reduces the boot time to under 1.5 minutes. Here is a new log with all services/startups enabled:

P.S. I just realized that many of the Intel services are wireless services, but my computer is currently hard-wired (is that the phrase?) to my modem (Yahoo/DSL) with an ethernet cable. Could this be causing a conflict? By the way, I can't get my Yahoo/DSL wireless to work, but that's another story.
