Win2k BSOD? Stop error "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE"

When I boot up a Win2kPro desktop, I get the Windows splash screen and the full bar and then what I suspect may be the Win2K equivalent of the old WinNT BSOD with the stop error above. If someone needs the stop codes, I can probably scribble it down somewhere.

Is there any hope of at least trying to access the data on the drive if I can get the system to boot using a separate boot disk?
