floop disk drive not working

my floppy disk isnt working i put a disk in and go on my computer double click floppy drive and it says this disk is not formatted,format now and when i click no it doesnt load the files up on the floppy disk any ideas what it could be thanks nost.

You have to format a floppy before you can use it. Click yes in stead of no to format the floppy. After that you will be able to put files on the floppy.

i dont want to add files to a floppy i want to view the files on the floppy disk and i tried clicking yes on formatting the disk and it says windows was unable to format the disk

Are you sure your floppy drive is working correctly? Try using another floppy and see if that does work.

Could it be your floppy drive is fried? Try borrowing or buying a new one. (they're like $5 or so).

Shouldn't be any settings for it in your BIOS. Look in there anyway to make sure your BIOS does recognise your floppy drive.

Ok, that's good. Go buy another floppy drive and see if that does it.
