Hi, my first time on the forum and looking for some help please.

Google has been hijacked - when I click on search results I am re-directed to other sites. Absolutely no problems when using my favourites or typing in web addresses directly so I'm guessing it's definitely a browser hijack problem.

I have run all the standard programmes - Adaware etc and used Hijack This to delete some registry entries in Safe Mode, turned off System restore etc and I've tried to follow previous advice on the forum but I am still encountering problems.

Just when all seems OK after a re-boot, within 20 minutes or so my google links are re-directed - totally frustrating! I am also unable to use system restore to go back to a previous date (would that work anyway?) because it won't let me select any of the dates, although they do appear to be available as options!?

So, I'm probably guilty of trying to fix something I really don't know enough about and it's time to ask the clever folk out there for help! Can someone give me a plan of action to resolve this problem?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
