Laptop Battery Problem

My laptop is an IBM thinkpad 600X and I can't use it unless its plugged in. It only stays on for 10 minutes without the plug. So i'm assuming thats the battery right? Can i replace it myself or do i have to bring it to a technician? and where can i buy it? what is it called?

If you do a Google search on "Thinkpad 600X battery", you will get a plethora of hits. It's up to you where to buy from.

As for how to install it, go to the IBM website and look up your laptop. IBM normally has downloadable maintenace manuals on line.
