Hi there - jumped the gun and tried to delete the two entries relating to shdocsv.dll/blank.htm before waiting on a reply but they didn't get removed. Scan again and still appearing.

Thanks Don - but had to give up - and return the PC to my mate as he was hanging out for it. Put Firefox on and that solved it (well as far as the home page hijack went)

He will need to get it straightened out sooner or later I m assuming IE is still messed up,
