windows media problems

when i attempt to play something in windows media it says the file is nt compatible with windows media, also when i try to download it again from microsoft it says i already have it installed, so just wondering if anyone has any ideas.

Hi there Jack,

The first thing that I would do is check my codecs (G-Spot - codec checker) then I would look at things like updates (for all related software) and file associations.

Jack, I have another problem with WMP that remains unresolved but I had no trouble downloading another copy from Microsoft after uninstalling the original program.

thanks for that but im afraid i dont know how to uninstall it as its not in the add/remove programmes window
