After I installed my new DVD R, my CD RW decided not to work. It recognizes it (show up on my computer, says its working properly from device manager, open/closes, etc.) but whenever I put a disc in, it wont read it and a red light will stay on where it normally flashes green. What might I be doing (or not doing) or have done that would cause this to happen and how do I fix it???

Are they on the same IDE cable? Do you have one configured as the master, and one the slave?

Yes, they are both on the same IDE cable and the CD ROM (on the end of the cable) is master and the DVD R is slave.

I admit I'm grabbing at straws here, but try making the DVD-R the master and the CD-ROM the slave. It's usually recommended that the burning device be the master.
