After running Microsoft Anti-Spyware, I kept getting the following error messages:

1) svchost.exe is not found
2) c:/winnt/system32/rundll32.exe cannot me found
3) c:/winnt/cfgmgr52.dll module cannot load
4)Yahoo instant messenger cannot load

In addition, everytime I open Internet Explorer...I get a blank screen with the message cannot find server. I wanted to know if anyone can help me. I want to know how to restore the dlls or which registry fix software is best to use.

Hi Stef,

DO you have your windows cd nearby?

If so stick it in the cdrom and then click start then run and type sfc /scannow and press enter. Let sfc replace any files it wants to.

Post back and let us know if that works.

I hate to tell you that without the cd there isn't much I can do for you.

Try visiting the windows update site and updating windows with all critical updates and see if that helps

I already did that. Now my computer keeps shutting down. Is there any way that you know that I can get the disk or should I just buy a new computer?

you could upgrade to xp it will depend on you system specs though like ram cpu and all those other goodies.

Either way you will need to back up all of you crucial data.

And yes that should fix the problem

If i understand right you can boot to windows on that machine? If so the best way to back up would be to cd. If you cant boot to windows then I'm not sure how to go about backing up your data.
