For some of my videos whatever player I use you can see little pixels appear which look really bad and I don't know how to solve this. Using Nvidia Geforce fx5200 with the 7.1 drivers. Might it be a codec problem the videos are encoded with?

How large are the files (file size)?

Are these home videos or downloaded from the net?

Have these videos played "cleanly" before and only now begun to look bad?

You didn't mention that you formatted and reinstalled.

When the computer was previously working, which vid driver version did you have? If it wasn't the same drivers you're using now, perhaps you might try reinstalling the old ones.
