Hoi Tim,

Before you fix anything can you please surf to:
http://www.thespykil...x.php?topic=5.0
and follow the instructions there to upload this file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\intell32.exe

Download smitRem.zip and save the file to your desktop.
Right click on the file and extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

Place a shortcut to Panda ActiveScan on your desktop.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Please read Ewido Setup Instructions
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

If you have not already installed Ad-Aware SE 1.06, follow these download and setup instructions, otherwise, check for updates:
Ad-Aware SE Setup
Don't run it yet!

Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Open Ad-aware and do a full scan. Remove all it finds.

Run Ewido:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.
  • You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
  • If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
  • DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
  • If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.
  • When the scan is finished, click the Save report button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Save the report to your desktop
Close Ewido

Next go to Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web > Uncheck "Security Info" if present.

Reboot back into Windows and click the Panda ActiveScan shortcut, then do a full system scan. Make sure the autoclean box is checked!
Save the scan log and post it along with a new HijackThis Log, the contents of the smitfiles.txt log and the Ewido Log by using Add Reply.
Let us know if any problems persist.

EDIT**

Ik heb dat bestand -- intell32.exe -- niet... wat nu..?

Groetjes,

Tim Geuyen.

We did get a sample of the file from someone else in the meantime, so you do not have to worry about that.

If you tell me what is unclear, I'd be happy to translate a bit.
If you'd like to be helped in Dutch, I'll have to disappoint you, but you could ask for help here:

I am Dutch, but this board isn't :tazz:
People come here looking for solutions and it would not be nice if they read something they can't understand.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [intell32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\intell32.exe

Reboot into safe mode and delete:
C:\WINDOWS\winini32.exe

Open IE and click Tools > Internet Options > on the General tab click Delete Files and put a checkmark in the Include Offline content box.

If you are using the Java by Sun in the Control Panel (Configuratiescherm) doubleclick the Java-Plugin > on the Cache tab click Clear.

Boot back to normal and let me know if everything is under control.

Also can you do this please.

Click Start > Run > copy&paste regedit.exe /e C:\SHUDDERLTD.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SHUDDERLTD" > OK

This will create the file C:\SHUDDERLTD.txt
Find that file and post the content of it.

If there is no Java Plug-In symbol in the Control panel then you are not using the Sun Java and it will also not be infected.

First copy the part in bold below into notepad and save it as Shudders.reg
Set Filetype to "all files"

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SHUDDERLTD]

Then download and unzip a new version of smitRem.zip

Reboot into safe mode and start RunThis.bat in the smitRem folder.

Then doubleclick Shudders.reg and confirm you want to merge it with the registry.

Boot back to normal and let me know if that solves it.
