Do you use power options?
How do you set your power options?

Turn off monitor. after so many minutes?

Turn off hard disks after so many minutes?

System Standby after so many minutes?

Do you use Hibernate?

Hello I don't Know,

I'm assuming you're using windows xp.

1. Right click on your desktop.
2. Click properties.
3. Click the "Screensaver" tab at the top.
4. Click "power"
5. Click the "power schemes" tab at the top.
6. Choose your options.
7. Click the "hibernate" at the top to get those options.

Personally the only option I use is "Turn of the monitor". I never hiberate or do standby.
