slow download speeds

hey, can anyone tell me why i have EXTREMELY slow download speeds, especially when using msn file transfer. i have a 2meg connection and it takes me about 5 mins to receive a file less than 1mb big. ive tried disabling the firewall to no avail, help!

First you will need to be a bit more specific. What connection do you have? Who is your Service Provider? Have you downloaded any new programs lately?

i have a 2meg connection with bt. it seems as if maybe there is something ticked to cap my speed.
