Download Process Explorer from HERE

Run Process Explorer and find the following process in the list of Processes:

cejikd.exe

Select the process and click Process > Suspend.

Leave Process Explorer running with the process suspended the whole time! Do NOT close it - even when your system is rebooting!

Then run HijackThis. Click Config > Misc Tools > Delete a file on reboot...
In the explorer Window select the file cejikd.exe
When prompted if you want to reboot click YES

After the reboot check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [fysyagd] c:\windows\system32\cejikd.exe r

Restart and boot into safe mode and run nailfix again. Run another Ewido scan and save the log.

Check and fix in HijackThis:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Delete these if found:

C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Restart and post a new HijackThis and Ewido log.

Please move HijackThis.exe and the backup folder it created OUT of the temp folder now. It shouldn't be in there.

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer and uncheck the same box to enable System Restore.

OK, let's try this again:

Download APT
Open apt and search in the window for the lrcoaxk.exe.
Open your C:\Windows\system32 folder and search for the bad file (lrcoaxk.exe). Don't delete it yet, just leave the system32 folder open so you can see the bad file.
In apt again, Select the bad process and Click Kill3

Then immediately delete the bad file from your system32 folder.

Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to this item and click FIX CHECKED:

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {2CDE1A7D-A478-4291-BF31-E1B4C16F92EB} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Win Server Updt] C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ojzdve] c:\windows\system32\lrcoaxk.exe r

Delete C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe.

Rescan with HiJackThis and post the new log.

OK, post a new HijackThis log and do NOT, I repeat do NOT, restart or shutdown your computer until we get to use APT. The name probably changed each time you restarted or shutdown.

So find a convenient time to leave the computer on before you post a new HijackThis log here.

Download APT
Open apt and search in the window for the edptds.exe.
Open your C:\Windows\system32 folder and search for the bad file (edptds.exe). Don't delete it yet, just leave the system32 folder open so you can see the bad file.
In apt again, Select the bad process and Click Kill3

Then immediately delete the bad file from your system32 folder.

Download FxWebsch but don't run it yet.

Restart and boot into Safe Mode. Run nailfix again. Then run Ewido and save the log.

Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to this item and click FIX CHECKED:

OK, the filename for that O4 entry in HijackThis might have changed if you restarted or shutdown your computer during this time. So run a new scan and see what the new name is (it's the random filename that has a r at the end of the exe name - see below for an example in your log). In your log it's currently called vpqabis.exe. It might have changed. So if it has, just replace that with the new filename and kill it in APT and HijackThis. Delete it also.

Open apt and search in the window for the vpqabis.exe.
Open your C:\Windows\system32 folder and search for the bad file (vpqabis.exe). Don't delete it yet, just leave the system32 folder open so you can see the bad file.
In apt again, Select the bad process and Click Kill3

Then immediately delete the bad file from your system32 folder.

Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to this item and click FIX CHECKED:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [prvexn] c:\windows\system32\vpqabis.exe r - if this entry changed it's name, just look for the random exe file with the r at the end and fix that one instead

The file does not show up in apt. And there is no other file with the stray "r" in apt. Although the computer has not been shut down since the last hijack this log, I ran another one this morning and the file you noted (vpqabis.exe) does show up in that logfile. Below is the hijack this logfile from this morning. Other suggestions? Thanks!

That doesn't sound right. I see it right there in your log:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [prvexn] c:\windows\system32\vpqabis.exe r

Is it showing up in HijackThis when you run a scan? You should see that vpqabis.exe file in APT.

That is correct. It shows up in the hijack this logfile, but does not show up in the list of files when running apt.

I will reboot, run another hijack this log, identify the random file with the "r" extension, and see if that shows up in APT.

If it still does not show up in APT, you may just fix it in HijackThis and then go ahead and delete that file.

Restart and post back a new HijackThis log when you are done.

rebooted. ran hijack this. same file "O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [prvexn] c:\windows\system32\vpqabis.exe r" showed up again in the hijack this scan. Ran APT and no file that even closely resembles this shows up in the APT list.
