Like so many others, I've got this Aurora thing on my computer. I got the directions for removal using HijackThis and CWShredder, but I don't know which things I should remove with HJT. So here's my log. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite [ HERE ]
Please read Ewido Setup Instructions
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from http://www.noidea.us/easyfile/file.php?dow...050711214630636
Unzip it to the desktop but please DO NOT run it yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.exe. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

• Uninstallation
  We need to uninstall the following programs:
• Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
• Please locate if they exist
  • View Point
• Click Uninstall
• Confirm with OK

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Awesome, thanks for your help.

I couldn't remove awvvv.dll because it said it was in use and there was no Nail.exe. And I still have ABetterInternet, WebFixer and Aurora popping up so I don't know what I didn't do right, but ah well.

Download the latest version of Ad-Aware from HERE (if you already have Ad-Aware installed, make sure that it is the latest version and always go online and update it before you run it).

Download Lavasoft's VX2 Cleaner plug-in HERE

• Install the VX2 Cleaner
• Start Ad-Aware SE
• Go to "Plug-ins"
• Select the VX2 Cleaner plug-in and click "Run Plugin"
• If your computer isn't infected, click "Close".

If your computer is infected

• Select "Clean system"
• Reboot your computer
• Scan your computer with Ad-Aware
• Remove any VX2 objects detected
• Reboot your computer again
• Run a second scan to make sure the files have been removed from your computer

Reboot in SAFE MODE. (How to boot in Safe Mode...)

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.exe. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Open Ad-aware and do a full scan. Remove all it finds. Save a LOG.

Reboot back in NORMAL MODE.

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

Location 1: HERE
Location 2: HERE

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

• Close all windows, open HijackThis then SCAN.
• Post a NEW HijackThis Log.
• Post the report log from Ewido and Ad-Aware.
• Post the results from L2MFix
