I have a friend's Gateway Flexatxstc Bro Essential. The motherboard is a MS-6312 ver 1 it does not have a PS2 slot for a keyboard or mouse, just USB. His computer would not boot at all. I hooked it up with one of my PSU and it boots. The problem is that Windows ME detected my monitor and wants to install it but the USB mouse and keyboard I have attached is not recognized so it can not proceed. Doh! :tazz: There is a com port on the motherboard which I suppose I could use with a ancient serial mouse but I don't actually have one handy.

Any suggestions?

I'll interject here, I suppose the reason for the USb devices not being recognized could lie with Windows. Of course this means a complete reinstall. Very time consuming.
