I fixed those problems in hijack this and rebooted into safe mode. I did the scan again in safe mode just to be sure those things were gone and there were no sign of them. I deleted the files containing [SyncroAd] and datejugsburndownload but I still haven't found one containing CASTTR. I did a recheck of things I deleted yesterday and the temporary internet files were back up to 9,091 object (stuff like pic hunter, bunny teans, galleries4free, twistys... ) no clue where all this porn is comming from !

There's a few things I'd like to run by you that caught my attention, whether because of past problems with certain names of files, or because they seemed unfamiliar.
1. A file with an icon that looks like a rubix cube named regedit
2. 2 application extensions in WINNT (twain.dll, twain_32.dll)
3. 2 computer icons with a red "do not touch" circle/X on them (unvise32, unvise32qt) both 84.KB applications
4. Under Administrato/Local Settins/Temporary Internet files there's a folder called Content.IE5. it has 4 folders in it (E2VY2HMC, Q052U4NF, TYR6LGMR, YSKCVN6G) all containing a faded desktop icon with names starting with [.shellclassinfo] UICLSID={7BD29E00-........ just different combos of numbers and letters. And an Index as a DAT file.

I restarted and now I have a pinkish square covering part of my background and there are application icons on my desktop for Casino Online, Website Hostine, Internet, Poker, Travel and a folder named backups

Download the latest version of Ad-Aware from here (if you already have Ad-Aware installed, make sure that it is the latest version and always go online and update it before you run it).

How to use Lavasoft's VX2 Cleaner plug-in

- Close Ad-Aware 6 and Ad-Watch (if running)
- Download the free VX2 Cleaner at http://updates.ls-se...lvx2cleaner.exe
- Install the VX2 Cleaner
- Start Ad-Aware 6
- Go to "Plug-ins"
- Select the VX2 Cleaner plug-in and click "Run Plugin"
- If your computer isn't infected, click "Close".


If your computer is infected

- Select "Clean system"
- Reboot your computer
- Scan your computer with Ad-Aware
- Remove any VX2 objects detected
- Reboot your computer again
- Run a second scan to make sure the files have been removed from your computer

Reboot your PC.

I installed the plugin and it said the system was clean. When I'm loading Ad-aware I get an error while loading the Ad-aware reference file. There's a warning saying Reference file not found or corrupt ! I checked for updates and there was one and it said the update was complete and to click finish but the bar showing the progress never passes 5%. As if there wasn't enough already wrong, I went on the net today and now the msn homepage is active in my background (covering part of my picture but behind desktop icons.

Well things seems to be going good MSN homepage is gone from my desktop background but that pinkish block is still there. Here's my latest hijack this log:

I used to have problems with my running processes...there were always 3 IEXPLORE.EXE running and now they're all gone !!! You're a saint !

Thanks soooooooooo much for all your help. I now have Spyware Blaster intalled and enabled and everything seems to be going good. I usually use the Opera browser for the internet but there are a few sites that it doesn't support (only then do I use IE). Don't get too exited though...I doubt this is the last you'll see of me...lol
