idcalid page fault in module Explorer.exe

:tazz: ok here it is i cannot even log on to my computer. at the log in where you put in your pass all i get is and error message and it is idcalid page fault in module Explorer.exe at 0197:00401f31
register
eax=00000000 cs=0167 epi=00401f31 and so on. i dont know what to do. can anyone please help me i would like to use my computer soon. thankyour ;)

I suspect no one has paid attention to this because they don't know what idcalid page fault is. I suspect it's invalid page fault but it got garbled by whatever is messing up the computer.

Do you have any more details?

I think, I had the same problem on Win 98SE some time ago.

This one is probably a corrupted registry.


Start System under DOS, enter command

Scanreg.exe/restore

If this doesn't work, on my system Win 98SE the exact location is
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\Scanreg.exe/restore

select old version of registry...

Start windows.

Sorry, I don't visit this Forum, I will not be able to offer further advise.

Good luck, it took me several days to find the fix for the problem.
