Hello,

I was so impressed with your ability to fix my computer that I have not hesitated to turn to you to help with my mom's laptop. It is crucial that I fix her computer because she is an adjunct professor for an online university's masters program and relies on her computer to store her work, conduct webchats, etc.

Last night she may have entered a dangerous website without previous knowledge. She noticed the ad pop-ups and ran a Live Update, which then created more problems.

Thus far, I have:

1. Downloaded and run Ewido (found 340 infected objects)
2. Downloaded and run Hijackthis (found one SurfSideKick file and deleted it)
3. Selected the option to view hidden files
4. Run an Ad-Aware scan
5. Cleaned out cookies and temporary Internet files.

Please, please, please help. If you want a Hijack this or Ewido log, simply say so--I have them.

My mom has reported that while she is typing a reply to an email or grading a student's paper, that a Spyware alert will appear without warning and will delete all of her text. I have not witnessed this personally yet, but I'm stymied as to how to correct this. Any advice?
