Lets check some settings on your system.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel and double-click on Network Connections
  • Then right click on your Default Connection
  • Left click on Properties.
  • Click the Networking tab.
  • Double-Click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item.
  • Select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS Servers Automatically and Obtain an IP address automatically.
  • Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen.
Reboot and see if that helps anything.

Let's clean up your log, then try something else. If it doesn't work I'll move this topic over to another forum because I don't think it's a malware issue.

First, did you fix anything in HiJackThis?

Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {87766247-311C-43B4-8499-3D5FEC94A183} - (no file)

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)

O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.r...ip/RdxIE601.cab

Close HiJackThis.

Next Go Start > Run type:

cmd

Click OK
type the following into the black screen:

ipconfig /flushdns

then hit enter

type exit hit enter

(that space between g and / is needed)

Reboot your computer and let me know if it made any difference.

Actually, you need to reboot after doing what I asked in command prompt, then try to dial-up.

HI,
No that didn't really work.
The problem now pretty much is, I can get halfway on line, the connection is extremely slow.
Somepages the header and footers appear right and in time (the web page site above and below the actual page, don't know what it is called, but that is what I call them by the tray).
We I do get a page most of the time it is with errors, sometimes it goes but won't go to the next page, then get page cannot be displayed.
Thanks for your help

Well your Hijackthis log is clean, so I'm not convinced that it's malware. However, let's try some cleaning programs and see if that helps any...

First, download, install, and run CleanUp! (so the scan won't take as long because cleanup will clear temporary files) *NOTE* Cleanup deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders an does not make backups. If you have anything in a temp folder, backup it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running Cleanup!

Please download Ewido Security Suite
  • Install ewido security suite
  • Launch ewido, there should be a big E icon on your desktop, double-click it.
  • The program will prompt you to update click the OK button
  • The program will now go to the main screen
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update
  • Click on Start
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.

Once the updates are installed do the following:
  • Reboot into Safe Mode, you can do this by restarting your computer, then contiunally tapping F8 until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter.
  • Now open Ewido Security Suite.
  • Click on scanner
  • Click Complete System Scan
  • Let the program scan the machine
While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean the first infected file it finds. Choose "remove", then put a check next to "Perform action on all infections" in the left corner of the box so you don't have to sit and watch Ewido the whole time. Click OK.

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report
  • Save the report to your desktop
  • Exit Ewido
Reboot into normal mode.

Then, please run this online virus scan:
ActiveScan

Save the results from ActiveScan.

I need you to post the log from Ewido, the log from ActiveScan and a new HiJackThis log.

Ok, but if I cannot get to webpages how am I going to be able to download if it won't go through.
I will start downloading this as I have to burn it to a disk to use for the other computer.
THanks

Ignore the ActiveScan part (sorry, I always put that in), but yes I assumed that you could transfer Ewido and Cleanup installers over via disk, since you did with Hijackthis :tazz:
