When trying to save an Excel or Word file to the A drive the program hangs. Attempts to use Task Manager to end process returns the following message: "This program cannot be closed. If it is being debugged, please resume it or close the debugger." Computer locks and must be manually powered off.

Looking at A: via My Computer, a new file is present, named simliar to a temp file.
Text files in notepad will save to the A drive.
Norton Antivirus was turned off - no change.

Thanks for any input.

Welcome to GTG.

You should probably ask this either in the Windows XP or Microsoft Office forums instead. You will probably get more replies there.
