Please download HijackThis - this program will help us determine if there are any spyware/malware on your computer. Create a folder at C:\HJT and move HijackThis.exe there. Double click on the program to run it.
1. If it gives you an intro screen, just choose 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'.
2. If you don't get the intro screen, just hit Scan and then click on Save log.
3. Post that log here!

Did you by any chance keep track of the names of the infected files?
Please empty any Quarantine folder in your antivirus programS and purge all recovery items in the Spybot program (if you use it) before running this tool.
Download the Mwav Virus Checker (Use Link 3)
1. Reboot into Safe Mode.
2. Double click the Mwav.exe file. This is a stand alone tool and NOT just a virus checker......so it won't install anything.
3. Put a check next to the below items before scanning:
5. In the Virus Log Information Pane......
Left click and highlight all the information in the Lower pane --- Use &CTRL C &on your keyboard to copy everything found in the lower pane and save it to a notepad file
*Note* If prompted that a virus was found and you need to purchase the product to remove the malware, just close out the prompt and let it continue scanning. We are not going to use this to remove anything...but to ID the bad files.
Once you copy that to a Notepad file, reboot back to normal mode, highlight the text and copy it here for your next reply...

how did you get into safemode for my other instructions?!?!
you can also try F5, often if its not 1, its the other.
i will report back soon with removal instructions.

I am on my work computer right now. But the answer to your safemode question is that I wasn't able to get to safemode before as well. I hope I didn't screw up the process. Sorry for not mentioning that before.

Ok, try F5 and if thats no good either just run the scan in normal mode.
Safemode is usually a key thing, but for your log i think we may have gotten lucky, there werent to many processes running.

I will try that tonight after work. Thanks again for your help.
Do you think my inability to perform live updates (errors) & access my internet service e-mail (send receive) is a malware/virus problem? Someone told me it likely was.
