error when clicking links [RESOLVED]

hi there
im really new to all this, so plz bear with me if possible.

over the past week, i have notised an error message comin up wen i click on music on the internet, mainly .ram files. the pop-up reads something along the lines of:

"Internet explorer has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close. The following add-on was running when this problem occured:

File: ftk.dll
description: XML Extender


it then asks me to click continue and then internet explorer closes.

i will now install hijack-this nd post the results following.

Please go into your add/remove programs and remove anything you see by new net.

Reboot and send a new log please. ;)

Does'nt seem to be a left lot to clean, lets get to it shall we ;)

Please do this before proceeding.

See hidden folders and files

Go into your task manager to the processes tab and end this if running.

ftkcpy.exe

After that fire up hijack this, press scan only and place checks next to these.

Hmmm seems i missed one.

Have hijack fix this.

Since your issues have been addressed and you are ready to travel the net again, I will just give you a few ideas on how to stay safe out there. Best of all these programs are all readily available on the net for free ;)

To reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster and SpyWareGuard.

SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard are by JavaCool and both are free programs. SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed and consumes no system resources. SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.

Might I suggest the following Free Spyware programs for added security, you can download them at the following links. These programs work great for detection:

Ad-aware SE--Adaware Tutorial

Spybot S&D--Spybot Tutorial

Antiviruses play an important role in keeping your computer safe and worry free while using the net. *NOTE* Only one antivirus must be allowed to run on your computer, as having two or more running can and will cause conflicts.

AVG Avast

Firewalls are also a must in any good prevention :

Zone Alarm Sygate Kerio

There are different browsers available on the net, other than Internet Explorer, we believe!! these are better for security purposes :

Firefox Opera

You must stay on top of your updates at all times, for the above mentioned applications.

It is vitaly important to stay on top of your critical updates provided by microsoft.

This can be accessed by going to Windows Updates and following the prompts.

To add to the performance of your computer, i suggest a weekly maintenance program. Run this tool. Ccleaner

Lastly a second opinion on the Antivirus that you have chosen. I suggest running these online virus scans periodically, just to make sure that the av is doing a proper job, of keeping you safe :

hi there

thank you very much mate, u sure are a credit to the internet. I have just downloaded spyware blaster, and will use that from now on. I was already running ad-aware, spybot and avg, all updated, and i get every windows update available, so how i was infected i will never know. Anyways, thanx again
