When i click a link or pic on different forums,the page just freezes.I have to ctrl/alt/delete to close ie down,what is causing this.why are the links working.

Since it may be a problem specific to the web-browser, we need to know which browser you are using. it would also help both us and you if you installed another free web-browser (Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape or Opera) to see if that has the same problem. If it's a system problem, all web-browsers would show the same fault. If it's browser-specific, a different web-browser should work okay and then we would know where to start looking.
