Hi
I uprgraded to windows XP Professional, but found a lot of my old programs didn't work properly. I had left my windows 98 on. When I uninstalled XP I found that I cannot get into my hotmal account as xp seems to have erased Unicows.dll and although I can download the program free, my computer doesn't recognise the program extension and asks me what I want to use to open the file. Consequently I cannot replace Unicows.dll.
Please does anyone know the answer apart from reformatting completely, which takes hours because of my other useful programs that I have to reload.
Thanks

are you trying to open a .dll file? if you downloaded unicows.dll then all you have to do is place that file where the original was supposed to be
