Hi and welcome to GeeksToGo! My name is Sam and I will be helping you. :tazz:

First we need to download and prepare some tools that we will need to fix your problem.
  • Please download SmitRem.zip
    • Save the file to your desktop.
    • Right click on the file and extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.
  • Please download Ewido Security Suite
    • Install ewido security suite
    • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
      • Install background guard
      • Install scan via context menu
    • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
    • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
      • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
      • Then click on Start Update.
    • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
(the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
    • Exit ewido. DO NOT scan yet.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.
    Ewido Manual Updates

  • Please download Adaware SE 1.06
Install Adaware and check for updates, but don't run it yet.

  • Place a shortcut to Panda ActiveScan on your desktop.
=============

Now that you have the right tools we can start fixing your problem.
Please print out these instructions as the rest of this fix must be done in Safe mode and you won't be able to access the Internet.

Please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
* if you have trouble getting into Safe mode go here for more info.

=============

Once in Safe mode, follow these steps:
  • Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool.
    • Follow the prompts on screen.
    • Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.
    • The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.
  • Open Ad-aware and do a full scan. Remove everything that it finds.

  • Run Ewido:
    • Click on scanner
    • Click Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
    • During the scan it will prompt you to clean files, click OK
    • When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a check in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections" then choose clean and click OK.
    • When the scan is finished, click the Save report button at the bottom of the screen.
    • Save the report to your desktop.
    • Close Ewido.
  • Next go to Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Website > Uncheck "Security Info" if present.

  • Reboot back into normal mode and click the Panda ActiveScan shortcut, then do a full system scan. Make sure the autoclean box is checked!

  • Save the scan log and post it along with a new HijackThis Log, the contents of the smitfiles.txt log and the Ewido Log by using Add Reply.
Let me know if any problems persist.

Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix Checked button.

Double Click on "Track qoo.vbs"

Note - If you Antivirus has Script Blocking, you will get a Pop Up Windows asking you what to do. Allow this Entire Script to Run, its harmless!

Wait a few seconds and a notepad page will pop up, Copy & Paste those results and place them in the next post along with the results of WinPFind!

Open Notepad, and copy everything in the code box below and paste it into a new notepad file. Change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as fixme.reg on your Desktop. Make sure there is NO blank line above "REGEDIT4"!

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\mggtkgqm]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{c3672e16-151c-47f6-865e-19a7066c89a8}]

Locate fixme.reg on your Desktop and double-click on it. When it asks if you want to merge with the registry, click YES.

Download the Pocket Killbox.

Unzip the contents of KillBox.zip to a convenient location and then double-click on KillBox.exe to launch the program.
  • Highlight the lines below and press the Ctrl key and the C key at the same time to copy them to the clipboard:

    • C:\WINNT\System32\eddok.dll
      C:\WINNT\System32\weov.exe

  • Now go to the Killbox application and click on the File menu and then the Paste from Clipboard menu item. In the Full Path of File to Delete box you should see the first file. If you dropdown that box you should see the rest of them. Make sure that they are all there.
  • Click on the Delete on Reboot option and then click on the red circle with a white 'X' in to to delete the files. Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be deleted on next reboot, click YES. When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, click YES. If you get a "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!" message then just restart manually.
Your system will reboot now.

Please post a new hijackthis log.

Click Start -> Run -> (type) services.msc

Scroll down and find the service called svchost.exe When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and close any open windows.

Run Hijackthis and click on Open the Misc Tools section -> Delete an NT Service
Copy and paste this into the text box and click OK.

moto

Reboot.

Now I need to see a different kind of log from Hijackthis.
Start Hijackthis and click on "Open the Misc Tools section"

Now put a checkmark next "List also minor sections(full)" and click "Generate StartupList log".

Please post that log in your next reply.

  • Please go to Jotti's malware scan
  • Copy and paste the following file path into the "File to upload & scan" box on the top of the page:
    • C:\WINNT\System32\weov.exe
  • Click on the submit button
  • Please post the results in your next reply.
Now try this for your desktop:
  • Click Start>Control Panel>Display
  • Go to the Desktop tab and click on the Customise Desktop button.
  • Go to the Web tab
  • In the web page box, click on the page that is checkmarked and then click the Delete button.
  • Ok your way out of the dialog and check your desktop.
Let me know if that fixes your desktop.

the jotti scan just said this

The file you uploaded is 0 bytes. It is very likely a firewall or a piece of malware is prohibiting you from uploading this file

now the only issue is the wallpaper, it now doesnt show the error screen anymore for some reason it is just a solid bluish-green color that i selected, the section where i can change wallpapers is still frozen even after trying what you said. the wallpaper doesnt serve anyreal person does it? is it alright if it just stayed that solid bluish-green color? if its not going to cause any harm then i dont mind it

thank you for all your help sam, i am now not getting hardly any random popups at all i was getting them often even before i got infected with spysheriff, my spyware scanners arent seeing anymore when i scan with them and it has made my computer go a little faster as well i appreciate all your help.
