Hey I've got a DVD writer (it can supposedly do dvd-r +r and -ram). If you want details its an LG GSA 4163B. I recently bought a Maxell DVD-R, popped it in, and the funny part is that windows doesnt recognize that its a dvd-r. it just calls it a cd. However when I use Alcohol 120% it can recognize a DVD-R. Basically i just wanna burn some stuff and I can't simply because no programs allow me to add anything to burn upon the disc.

any help would be great, thanks.

Hi fariddeen, welcome to GTG!

Here is a great CD/DVD burning proggy for WindowsXP:

http://www.cdburnerxp.se/

It's donationware; that is, free to use, but donations encouraged.

Be well, SD
